CENTRAL AVENUE OVERLAY SCHEDULED
LITTLE ROCK (3-30) Crews working on the rehabilitation of the Highway 7 Interchange of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Expressway, in Hot Springs, will begin working on Central Avenue (Highway 7) next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Tranpsortation Department (AHTD) officials.
Weather permitting, crews will begin the overlay of Central Avenue through the interchange on Monday, April 2, 2007. The work will be done during nighttime hours to minimize the impact to the traveling public. Work will begin each evening, Monday through Thursday, at 7 p.m. and will be complete each morning by 6:00 a.m. Work may resume on the evening of Monday, April 9, 2007, if necessary to complete the work due to any weather delays.
Crews will also be working during the daytime on Monday, April 2, 2007, completing the overlay of Pakis Road.
The new eastbound on and off ramps between Pakis Road and the Expressway have been opened to traffic. Opening these two new ramps allowed the traffic signal on Highway 7 for the ramps to be permanently removed.
As always, motorists are urged to consider an alternate route and exercise caution when approaching or traveling through highway work zones.
