AHTD ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR TRANSPORTATION PROGRAMS
LITTLE ROCK (4-12) The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) is accepting applications for three public transportation programs, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.
The three programs include the Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities Program, Job Access and Reverse Commute Program, and the New Freedom Program.
The Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities Program is a capital assistance program to purchase transit vehicles for agencies providing service to the elderly or persons with disabilities. The Job Access and Reverse Commute Program allows capital and operating assistance for transportation service to welfare recipients and low-income persons. The New Freedom Program allows capital and operating assistance for transportation service to persons with disabilities.
Agencies may obtain an electronic copy of the application by accessing the Department’s internet site at www.arkansashighways.com. Once there, click on the “Publications” link and scroll down to the appropriate application. The applications are in Adobe Acrobat format. Agencies may request a paper copy by calling 501-569-2471.
Applications must be received by the Department’s Public Transportation Programs Section no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 8, 2007, at the following address: Public Transportation Programs Section, Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, P.O. Box 2261, Little Rock, AR, 72203-2261.
