LANE CLOSURES RE-SCHEDULED FOR INTERSTATE 40 NEAR ATKINS


    LITTLE ROCK (5-10) Resurfacing scheduled for Interstate 40 near Russellville and Atkins this week has been rescheduled due to rainy weather, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

     Crews replacing asphalt will require a lane closure on Monday, May 14th beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending by 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.  The lane closure will be located in the eastbound, outside lane, in the vicinity of Mile Marker 99 near Atkins.

    A second lane closure will take place on Tuesday, May 15th beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending by 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.  The lane closure will be located in the westbound, outside lane, in the vicinity of Mile Marker 88 near Russellville. 

     As always, motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
