The Ark ansas St ate Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement Meeting in Melbourne to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 9, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Belview Baptist Church , 403 Knob Creek Road , in Melbourne .

     Plans call for adding 2.5 miles of passing lanes, one southbound and one northbound, on Highway 9 between Melbourne and Brockwell.
