CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR INTERSTATE 40 PROJECT

    LITTLE ROCK (10-16)

Crews working on the I-40 project in the North Little Rock /Levy area will have work this weekend that will necessitate lane closures in the area, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Beginning Saturday morning, October 20, at 6:00 a.m. the current I-40 westbound on ramp from Highway 107 ( JFK Blvd . ) will be closed as crews repave, stripe and prepare the roadway for permanent opening. The work should be completed and reopened by mid-morning. While the ramp is closed, detour signs will route traffic from Highway 107 to the east side on ramp that has been closed. It will close again after the work is completed.

Also on Saturday morning, crews will close Pike Ave nue under the Levy Bridge to mill, repave and stripe the roadway for its final phase of construction. This work will be completed on Sunday. Detour signs will be in place.

While no lane closures will be in place, crews will also be repaving sections of McArthur Drive in the area during the weekend.

All work on this $57 million project is nearing completion and should be completed by the end of November.

Detour signs will be in place. As always, motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
