HIGHWAY POLICE UNCOVER DRUG SHIPMENT


    LITTLE ROCK (10-17) 

Officers from the Arkansas Highway Police Division of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) have uncovered a large shipment of illegal drugs, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

On Tuesday, October 16, officers stopped a tractor-trailer rig on U.S. Highway 64 near Alma for a routine inspection.  During the inspection Highway Police discovered several bundles of marijuana weighing an estimated 115 pounds with a street value of approximately $138,000. 

The driver was identified as Sean Stukes, age 29, of Decatur , Georgia .  It is believed the truck and trailer loaded with produce was traveling from California to New Jersey .  Stukes was arrested at the scene for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.  He is being held at the Crawford County Detention Center . He was scheduled for arraignment in Crawford County District Court on Wednesday, October 17.
