LITTLE ROCK (4-23) 

Crews performing a routine inspection on the Interstate 540 bridge over the Arkansas River between Fort Smith and Van Buren will require a lane closure Monday, April 27^th and Tuesday, April 28^th, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The inspection will require the southbound outside lane to be closed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

As always, motorists are urged to use an alternate route if possible and to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
