LITTLE ROCK (6-3) 

         Crews replacing a drainage structure north of Tuckerman will require the closure of Highway 226 approximately 2.0 miles east of Highway 67 at Maple Slough, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

     Weather permitting, work on the drainage structure will begin Monday morning, June 8 and should be completed by Thursday afternoon, June 12.  Work will be ongoing throughout the daylight hours, but the highway will remain closed for the entire time to facilitate the process.     

     Detour signing will be in place in Cash, Newport and North of Tuckerman to direct traffic around the area.

     Motorists are urged to plan ahead and select an alternate route during this time frame.
