The ARDOT utilizes an Erosion and Sediment Control Design and Construction Manual to provide guidance to designers and field personnel dealing with both construction and maintenance projects. The manual is utilized on those projects on ARDOT right of way where ARDOT has oversight of the construction (or maintenance) project. It is considered to be an integral part of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan for each permitted site.
A new 2016 manual was recently issued with a number of changes designed to bring it in line with the latest version of the NPDES Construction Stormwater Permit.
