This Division provides legal opinions to ARDOT's divisions and districts, providing legal compliance guidance as requested. Titles to lands purchased or acquired through eminent domain are examined and approved, and the division represents the ASHC and ARDOT in administrative and court matters (processing ARDOT employee garnishments), provides defense of the Department in claims before the State Claims Commission. The Legal Division also manages and collects accounts receivable resulting from damage to ARDOT property and maintains Intrastate Motor Carrier Authority and Medical Waivers.
